Our dream microwedding in Big Sur: a romantic celebration at Wind & Sea Estate.

Well, it’s officially been six months since Cameron & I tied the knot in October 2021! When it came to deciding on the perfect venue, we were torn. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had imagined our wedding in The Big Easy, itself… New Orleans. While we wanted a celebration that reflects the vibrant love that Cameron and I have for each other, we also felt a responsibility to keep those we loved safe during these trying times. After a lot thoughtful discussions, we decided to ditch our plans for a big bash and opted for a romantic microwedding at the Wind & Sea Estate in Big Sur, California.

While New Orleans holds a special place in our hearts, Cameron and I fell in love along the Central Coast in Monterey, California. With Monterey County & Big Sur half way between our loved ones in Northern and Southern California, it quickly became our rerouted destination wedding. As many of you may know, Big Sur is beautiful, but rugged and wild. Between California wildfires, mudslides, and an everchanging global pandemic, we opted for a private estate tucked away in the mountains. The Big Sur Wind & Sea Estate was the perfect getaway for 25 of our closet family members and childhood friends…

A beautiful modern, 3,000 square foot home offers, 3 Bedrooms, (4 Beds), 2 1/2 Baths. Across the driveway, there is an additional detached Studio with King Bed, Breakfast Nook, and 3/4 Bath. This unique property features a gourmet kitchen, an outdoor yoga area complete with outdoor showers, Jack and Jill copper soak tubs, and dry sauna, all with awesome Pacific Ocean views. An amphitheater with fire ring sits boldly on an outcropping that gives more spectacular views in all directions. All structures, decks and patios are placed to take maximum advantage of the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

The pandemic may be on its way out (fingers crossed), but for couples that prefer an intimate ceremony with a scenic view, Big Sur’s Wind & Sea Estate is the place to be.
