You don’t need to be a blogger babe to appreciate beautifully edited photos. In fact, beautiful photos are essential to your business’ brand. Discover some of my favorite cheap and easy editing tools to create beautiful photos, and improve your photography today!
+ Lightroom & Lightroom Presets
Adobe Lightroom used to intimidate me, but recently it has become my go-to for Instagram photos. Some of my favorite presets include Hello Fashion Presets for neutral tones and Light & Airy Photography for pastel colors. Adobe prices vary depending on the package you purchase, but I recommend the Creative Cloud Photography plan for $54.99 per month, which includes Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, and Photoshop. Presets are sold separately and vary in price.
+ VSCO
If you want something a little less complicated than Lightroom, I highly recommend VSCO. Inspired by my favorite blogger babe, Sivan Ayla, I now use series A, J, and K series for the majority of my photos, but if lighting is problematic, I’ll play with the filter settings to get the image just right. If you like muted neutral tones, this is a go-to app for you. VSCO is $19.99 for an annual membership or you can purchase individual collections of filter presets. Here’s a guide to get you started on VSCO.
+ Camera Plus
Camera+, now known as Photon, was my go-to tool before I learned how to utilize VSCO or Lightroom. If you’re just establishing your brand, this is a great tool to start with. Camera+ has a variety of filters for you to play with until you’ve established your look. You can enter “the lab” to play with neutrals, chromes, pastels, clarity, tint, and more. If you’re still experimenting with your aesthetic, I highly recommend testing our Photon for to discover what works best with your style. If you’re impressed with the app, you can purchase a 1-year subscription for $17.99.
+ Retouch
Got blemishes? It happens. If you capture a great photo and there’s just one little detail that’s keeping you from posting, download Retouch for free at the Apple store. Whether it’s a blemish or that rude dude that walked into your shot, there’s a good possibility you can erase them completely with the Retouch app. Keep in mind, this app is here to help you fine tune details rather than alter your photo completely. Stay true to you! This is a one-time purchase of $3.99.
