Your Guide to Antiquing in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Explore Chattanooga’s antique shops! Check out “Your Guide to Antiquing in Chattanooga, Tennessee,” and find the best local spots for vintage treasures.

Are you ready to get real Southern? Before moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee, I had always wanted to learn about the world of antiquing. However, being from the San Francisco Bay Area, many of our local vendors did not have a dedicated home store due to the cost of California rent. So, we’d travel to far destinations and track down vintage markets to dig for buried treasure. Now, we have a variety of options right down the road!

+ Dirty Jane’s Antiques

Dirty Jane’s Antiques hooked me into the world of antiquing. With a 24,000 square foot building housing over 100 vendors, Dirty Jane’s has a plethora of quirky, beautiful, old treasures waiting to be discovered. Rummaging through this Southern antique store, I found an array of aged typewriters and newspaper clippings featuring The King himself, Elvis Presley. However, there is much more to be found. Stop in and take a look! Dirty Jane’s Antiques has a little something for everybody.

+ The Mustard Seed

Not only will you find antiques, gifts, and home décor galore at The Mustard Seed. You’ll also discover a variety of items celebrating cultures from around the globe. From elegant French tables and vintage Japanese screens to down right Southern décor, The Mustard Seed is a great go-to spot for customers seeking unique pieces from cultures that resonate with their heritage, experiences, and passions.

+ The Refindery on McCallie

The Refindery On McCallie is an urban Chattanooga-based market dedicated to antiques, vintage, industrial and, architectural finds. In my experience, this is one of the more eclectic antique stores in Chattanooga. And one of the few antique stores that offers home exterior pieces that are difficult to find, including (but not limited to) window shutters, rescued exterior woods, and even mailboxes. Snap a picture with Refindery’s Falkor and find the next piece to add to your home.

+ The Rustic Rose Vintage Treasures

Driving down the Hixson Pike, you’ll find a little gem coined The Rustic Rose Vintage Treasures. While this antique shop has little to no online presence, it doesn’t disappoint. This small, but mighty shop supplies Chattanoogans with unique home décor and interior furniture pieces to transform your house into a home. Highly recommended for unique furniture pieces for your living room and kitchen in addition to refurbished home décor items.

+ Vinterest Hixson

Often described as “Etsy in real life” or “Pinterest come alive,” this locally owned and operated brand offers a bit of something for everyone. With two stores in Chattanooga and a new location in Nashville, Vinterest offers an eclectic mix of old, new, up-cycled, recycled, and even modern products provided by local vendors. On the last day of our babymoon, Cameron and I discovered a projector that is nearly 100 years old and had to snag it. With a little elbow grease and a lot of love, Cameron was able to bring this antique back to life. It’s not only a great décor piece for our home, but it’s actually functional as well!

Can’t take the time to visit Vinterest in-person? Unlike, most antique stores, you can also shop Vinterest online. Not only that, but locals can even attend events (such as the Golden Girl’s Galentine’s Day Costume Party) onsite!
