What a crazy, exciting two years it’s been 🥹

When we moved across the country, we were truly starting over. We could have never guessed how good it was going to be. From publishing my book to starting Keep Chatt Clean to exploring all that Chattanooga has to offer, it has been a wild ride. Chattanooga welcomed us with open arms and we have found a beautiful community here! California will always be home in my heart, but TN is home now too❤️

This week, I’m home in California. I say home be

This week, I’m home in California. I say home because, this is where I’m from and my family lives here. Tennessee is also my home. So what really is “home”? Over the past couple years, I’ve been on a journey discovering the meaning of home after moving across the country. A book was born out of this journey.

Two weeks ago, I launched the full version of my book, Mud Water Will Rise. The book ends with a poem very near and dear to my heart: Salt Air to Mud Water. I end with this poem because this is the title of my NEXT book of poetry launching this spring!

Salt Air to Mud Water is about my journey from California to Tennessee and navigates the muddy waters of life, love, and healing; healing from trauma and grief, reconnecting with nature, and finding the true meaning of home. Salt Air to Mud Water explores how the healing powers of salt air can soothe the soul and transform the muddiest moments into pathways of self-discovery and resilience.

I was born and raised on the coast and I now also call the muddy waters of the South my home. Writing this book was a therapeutic journey for me as I discovered what it means to call an entirely new place home. I can’t wait to share it with you💙

Need a date idea that isn’t just going out to eat? These are some of my favorites in Chattanooga! 💙

I love a good dinner date (should I do a post about my favorite dinner date spots in Chattanooga?), but sometimes you have to mix it up and do something else for a change! Here are my favorite non-dinner dates in Chattanooga:

➕Grab a coffee and read a book with your partner at the Book and Cover

➕Go on an art gallery date at the Hunter Museum

➕Hike at Stringers Ridge. The best part is it’s right in North Shore so you don’t have to drive far to enjoy a nature date!
➕Pick pumpkins at (our new favorite) Smith Perry Berries. Check their Facebook about open days in November!
